Middle School Class Trips & Retreats

Each class takes a full-day retreat in September. These retreats have included rope courses, rock climbing, scavenger hunts, sailing, and other team-building and community-service activities. Through these experiences, students develop the skills necessary to form supportive communities, set and achieve realistic goals, build collaboration, and develop problem-solving strategies.

In addition, each class takes an overnight trip in the spring supporting the goals of the program. Grade 6 students participate in a Washington State Geology and STEAM Program trip, Grade 7 students travel to France, and Grade 8 students go on an excursion to either Costa Rica or China, depending on their choice of world language. We also have an optional homestay exchange with the Canary Islands.

These programs reinforce our classroom curriculum and build confidence and independence in our students.
