Engagement & Philanthropy

Why Give?

Your gift is an investment in the bilingual leaders of tomorrow.

At FASPS, we know that a bilingual education prepares students to become the empathetic, globally minded leaders of tomorrow. Donations empower innovative academic programs, attract and retrain dedicated educators, and provide access through tuition assistance, bridging the gap between tuition and the true cost of education.

By supporting FASPS, you’re nurturing a community where curiosity, cultural agility, and leadership thrive. Every gift, at every level, secures this transformative experience for generations to come.

Ways To Give

“The Gifts We Live By” - Two Primary Fundraisers Each Year

The Annual Fund in the Fall supports the school’s annual operating budget. We strive for 100% participation from our entire community—families, our Board of Trustees, and our faculty and staff—at a level that is meaningful to you. Every gift makes a difference!

The Gala & Auction in the Spring supports key priorities of the school, such as our scholarship endowment fund, technology needs, special projects, and the operating budget.

As a nonprofit, donations made to FASPS are tax-deductible. Our tax ID number is 91-1682584. Many employers offer corporate matching programs as part of their benefits. This is a great way to support your philanthropic giving and extend your donation’s reach. Check with your employer’s HR department to inquire if they have a matching gift program.

“The Gifts We Grow By” - Capital Campaigns

Capital campaigns are specific fundraising campaigns that help the school grow, such as funding the construction of a new building. FASPS has previously conducted two successful capital campaigns—in 2004 and in 2007. In the summer of 2024, we started our latest capital campaign to help fund the construction of our permanent home project.

“Create a Legacy of Philanthropy” - Planned Gifts

A planned gift in the form of bequests, insurance policies, trusts, or retirement plans are another way to support FASPS and its mission in the long run. If you are considering a planned gift to FASPS, you can reach out to Heidi Paige in the Development Office at HeidiP@fasps.org or (206) 275-3533, ext. 278.

Scholarship Funds

FASPS offers two restricted funds that offer ways of supporting student learning. The Patricia Blaise-Caves Scholarship Fund is an endowed fund that supports our tuition assistance program, and the Cultural Agility Fund supports beyond-the-classroom experiences.

Volunteering

The spirit of volunteering is deeply ingrained in the French American School of Puget Sound community and from the early years of our history, this commitment has fostered a sense of personal involvement. We ask for families to contribute 10 volunteer hours, which strengthens the school-family partnership.

Key opportunities include Giving Week, where volunteers support the Annual Fund through gratitude initiatives, and the annual Gala & Auction, the year’s largest fundraiser, recruiting volunteer help for both planning and execution. The Family and Community Committee (FCC) relies on volunteers for events like monthly coffees, parent education, and bread sales and offers myriad ways to contribute that fit everyone’s schedules, time commitments, skills, and interests. Every effort helps create a vibrant, engaged community.

Donor Recognition

Your generous support—including gifts to the Annual Fund, Gala & Auction, PBC Fund, and corporate matches within a fiscal year—enables us to carry out our mission to challenge students to excel academically and thrive in today’s world.

Annual Fund Giving Levels:

  • Head’s Circle: $20,000 and Up
