Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Collège

FASPS Middle School offers a rigorous bilingual curriculum that builds on our elementary foundation, preparing students for high school and global citizenship. Balancing French and English instruction, we cultivate academic excellence, critical thinking, and personal responsibility within a culturally diverse community. Our program emphasizes interdisciplinary mastery through courses like Chinese, Drama, History-Geography, and STEM, complemented by immersive iDays—thematic learning experiences featuring hands-on projects and simulations.

Unique Learning Labs, led by teachers sharing their passions, deepen student engagement. Beyond the classroom, excursions like trips to the Kennedy Space Center and international destinations foster experiential learning and camaraderie.

We prioritize holistic growth through advisory programs focused on socio-emotional development, retreats, and service initiatives that strengthen our inclusive culture. FASPS ensures academic rigor while nurturing confident, adaptable learners.

Our graduates excel in diverse high school environments, equipped with bilingual fluency, intellectual curiosity, and leadership skills.

Program Highlights

LANGUAGE ARTS & HUMANITIES
In language arts (in French) and humanities (in English), students hone critical thinking through the study of current cultural topics and events, and they refine their written and oral communication skills.

HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY
Through the study of history and geography, students are given the opportunity to explore the context and dynamics of human societies, gaining a deeper understanding of diverse social phenomena.

MATHEMATICS
Math is offered in French and in English with accelerated and differentiated learning. By the end of 8th grade, students have completed the equivalent of high school geometry and are ready for advanced high school algebra.

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
Middle school science and technology classes introduce students to physics, biology, chemistry, and technology ( design and coding). These lessons and STEM projects ignite curiosity and provide the tools to explore and make meaning of the world through hands-on learning and discovery.

WORLD LANGUAGES
Students choose an additional language, Mandarin or Spanish, which helps them deepen their understanding of global diversity.

VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS
Visual arts, music, and drama allow students to be creative, develop technical skills, and cultivate an appreciation for diverse cultures.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
PE introduces students to different sports activities, helping them increase their confidence, maintain physical fitness, and develop collaborative and leadership skills.

INTERDISCIPLINARY CLASSES
By collaborating on hands-on projects and exploring complex themes from multiple perspectives, students develop a deeper understanding of content and strengthen their communication, research, and teamwork skills.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Students partake in overnight educational trips to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, France, China, and Costa Rica. Homestay exchanges (up to 6 weeks) with partner schools in France, Spain, and Taiwan provide students with an immersive learning experience.

ADVISORIES
Small group advisories foster meaningful peer and educator connections. Students receive academic support, set goals, and strengthen school connectedness to increase socio-emotional wellbeing.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Wellbeing

Our Middle School program delves deeper into social justice, leadership, and global citizenship. Students engage in service learning, participate in affinity groups, and take part in transformative trips abroad to understand the complexities of global issues. Through these experiences, they gain the knowledge and skills to become effective, thoughtful leaders who can advocate for change and make a positive impact in their communities-both locally and globally. Students not only engage with social issues but also take action to address them, building confidence in their ability to lead with purpose and compassion.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Peer Mediation

Elementary and Middle School students engage in peer mediation programs, where they are trained to help resolve conflicts, and develop strong communication and empathy.

Conferences

Students in Middle School attend and participate in regional leadership and diversity conferences.

Student Council

The Student Council also plays a key role in fostering student leadership and activism, guiding initiatives that promote inclusivity, sustainability, and community involvement. Students collaborate on projects that address issues such as equality, environmental stewardship, and community service, both locally and globally.

International Exchange Trips

One of the most exciting opportunities for our Middle School students is the chance to participate in international exchange trips. FASPS has partnered with organizations in France, the Canary Islands, and Taiwan to provide students with an immersive multicultural experience.

Affinity Groups and Clubs

FASPS is currently developing the following affinity groups for Middle School students: AAPI, Black Student Union, Latinx and Hispanic, LGBTQIA+, MENA, Multiracial, and South Asian.
