Admissions Requirements

Language Requirements

There is no French language requirement for students entering TYPK through Kindergarten. For grades 1-8, students with no experience in French will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

School Readiness

Applicants for TYPK (18 months-2 years) are not required to be potty-trained. Children entering FASPS in YPK are expected to be out of diapers.

Application Materials

Teacher evaluations may be required for all applicants, and students applying to middle school will be asked to write a short introductory essay. Please see below for more details on the application process.

How To Apply

☑️ Learn About Our School

Sign up for an in-person tour or register to attend one of our open houses in Ravenna, our application portal.

☑️ Submit an Application

Create a profile on Ravenna and submit your application. A nonrefundable fee of $110 is due with your application.

☑️ Family Discussion

Schedule a family discussion with the admissions office (Admissions@fasps.org). The family discussion is another opportunity for you to ask questions about FASPS and a time for us to get to know your family better. This session is intended for the entire family.

☑️ Evaluations and Progress Reports

For preschool and kindergarten applicants with prior schooling, please provide a link to the teacher evaluation form found in Ravenna to your child's current teacher. They can then submit it directly to FASPS online. For grades 1–8, please upload two years of your student's report cards. Middle school students are required to submit a 2–3 paragraph personal introduction in French.

☑️ Discovery Morning (Preschool Applicants)

Preschool and kindergarten applicants are invited to attend this fun community event for prospective families where they will spend time in a classroom with other children their age, playing and doing craft projects facilitated by our teachers. During that time, parents have a chance to mingle with other applicant families and members of our community. Discovery Morning takes place on a Saturday in March.

☑️ Class Visit Day (Elementary and Middle School Applicants)

Local elementary and middle school applicants are invited to experience a day at FASPS in their current grade level. Our goal is to meet your child in person and get to know them, while they have a chance to discover FASPS. Class visit days should be scheduled with the Director of Enrollment Management (PenelopeS@fasps.org).
