Something for Every Age and Stage

From bilingual early childhood camps to field-trip adventures for older students, FASPS offers age-appropriate summer experiences designed around joy, growth, and connection. 

All camp programs are enthusiastically led by FASPS educators, alumni, and thoughtfully selected summer staff who reflect our mission and values. Summer programs at FASPS help children build confidence, curiosity, independence, and lasting memories.

CAMP DES LUCIOLES (CLU)

Ages 2 through Rising Kindergarten

A Wonder-Filled First Camp Experience

Camp des Lucioles is our bilingual French-English early childhood summer program, offered at both our Mercer Island and Capitol Hill campuses.

Designed for early learners, this camp program combines play, creativity, outdoor time, and thoughtful daily routines while helping children develop confidence and autonomy before starting or continuing school.

Through play, special guest visitors, and mesmerizing activities, campers dip their toes into the water of bilingual education. Leaders prioritize development of children’s social-emotional growth and school readiness.

Highlights:

  • Ages 2 through rising Kindergarten

  • French-English bilingual environment

  • Offered at Mercer Island and Capitol Hill

  • 6 weeks: June 29 – August 7

  • 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Before care from 8:00 AM / After care until 6:00 PM

Learn, Play, Explore

Camp D’Été is a French immersion summer camp where students learn through hands-on projects, games, movement, creativity, and outdoor play.

No prior French experience is needed, making it a wonderful opportunity for both current students and new families

  • French immersion camp

  • No prior French required

  • Weekly field trips

  • Weekly swimming visits

  • 4 weeks: June 29 – July 24

Adventure Beyond the Classroom

Classe Aventure is a dynamic field trip-based camp designed for older students ready for independence, exploration, and unforgettable summer experiences.

Students begin and end each day at the Mercer Island campus while FASPS provides transportation throughout the day.

  • Rising Grade 6 – Rising Grade 9

  • Transportation included during camp day

  • Staff lead in French; no prior French required 

  • 4 weeks: June 29 – July 24

Special one-week transition camps designed to help students feel prepared, organized, and excited for the next school chapter.

Ready…Set…Grade 1!

A fun, play-based program for children entering Grade 1/CP.

Students strengthen reading, writing, math readiness, routines, independence, and confidence through games, crafts, stories, and outdoor play.

Ready, Set, Grade 6!

Designed to help students transition into Middle School with confidence.

Students practice organization, time management, reading schedules, study skills, writing, and healthy technology habits through engaging team challenges and mini-projects.

Youth volunteer Program 

Looking for a fun and valuable way to spend your time this summer while speaking French? Want to develop your leadership skills and be a role model for younger students? The French American School of Puget Sound (FASPS) is looking for youth volunteers like you to work at our French Camp des Lucioles, Camp d’été, or Classe Aventure programs. Volunteers are a vital part of our program as they help our teachers provide enriching experiences for our campers and help support the learning of French. We welcome volunteers to join us for up to seven weeks of camp, not only FASPS alumni, but students from the community and from abroad!

Notes:

  • All FASPS Summer Program youth volunteers must be at least 15 years old. 

  • Camp d'été and Classe Aventure run for the first 4 weeks of camp; Camp des Lucioles runs 6 weeks.

  • Volunteers may apply per week.

  • Please see volunteer application below for camp dates, themes, and additional information. 

  • Applications for Summer 2026 are due by May 15. Please email your completed application to Summer@fasps.org.
