Community Involvement & Partnerships

At the French American School of Puget Sound (FASPS), community is everything. We proudly welcome parents, grandparents, extended family, and friends to participate in all our community events, strengthening the bonds that make our school special.

Alliance Francaise de Seattle

The Alliance Francaise de Seattle is a dynamic educational and cultural nonprofit whose mission is to promote the French language. It is part of a network of over 800 Alliances Francaises in 130 countries. FASPS is a sponsor of the Alliance Francaise de Seattle.
France Education Northwest (FEN)

France Education Northwest (FEN) is a nonprofit organization that shares the richness of French-speaking cultures with the Pacific Northwest. Its flagship event, Seattle’s French Fest, launched in 2013 as part of Seattle Center’s Festal series, celebrates both Seattle’s French community and global Francophone heritage. Held each March during Francophonie Month, it is one of the West Coast’s largest French cultural festivals.
French Premiere

In the U.S., many excellent French films have minimal theatrical runs—sometimes just a few days—and are usually confined to major cities like New York or Los Angeles. Launched in January 2024, French Premiere brings a new French film to the Seattle/Bellevue area every month, screened in its original French version with English subtitles.
French Talent USA

French Talent USA is a California-based nonprofit that promotes French culture by showcasing Francophone artists across the United States. The organization has successfully brought French comedians like Philippine Delaire and Sébastien Marx to Seattle audiences, strengthening cultural connections through live performances.
Mercer Island Preschool Association (MIPA)

The Mercer Island Preschool Association (MIPA) was established in 1937 and is a resource for families with children from newborns through Kindergarten. FASPS’s Admissions Department participates in MIPA’s preschool fair in January and MIPA’s Circus in April.
PIAFF

PIAFF’s mission is to promote French culture and arts in the United States through diverse performing arts, with the aim of facilitating cultural exchanges and enhancing the appreciation for French artists. The nonprofit has brought performers such as Caroline Vigneaux, Caroline Loeb, and Anne Roumanoff to the Seattle area.
Seattle University

FASPS and Seattle University have launched an innovative partnership to advance bilingual education and global citizenship. This collaboration connects FASPS students with Seattle U’s French in France and Africa program, offering cultural immersion opportunities, while Seattle U students gain teaching experience as classroom assistants. FASPS and Seattle U will share resources, host joint projects, and foster cross-cultural learning—empowering both communities to thrive in a multilingual world.
SJJ Agency

Led by Sylvie Joseph-Julien, Sjj agency promotes Francophone art and literature internationally. The nonprofit organizes the yearly les Troubadours de la BD (a comic arts festival) and les Troubadours de la littérature jeunesse (a youth literature festival), as well as workshops in schools and artist residencies.
Stroum Jewish Community Center (SJCC)

Our close partnership with the Stroum Jewish Community Center (SJCC) allows students access to exceptional facilities right next to the Mercer Island campus. Through this collaboration students enjoy swimming and PE classes in their athletic facilities, and participate in special performances, assemblies, and drama lessons  in their auditorium.
