Community Engagement

DEI Council

At the French American School of Puget Sound (FASPS), we believe that strong community partnerships and meaningful engagement are essential to fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and globally minded learning environment. By collaborating with families, faculty, staff, local organizations, schools, and cultural institutions, we expand learning beyond the classroom, providing students, faculty, and families with opportunities to engage in dialogue, service learning, and cross-cultural exchange.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council at the French American School of Puget Sound (FASPS) was established in 2016 by faculty members to foster a more inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive school community. Comprised of faculty and staff, the council collaborates to develop initiatives, provide resources, and guide conversations that advance DEI principles within the school.

Through ongoing dialogue, professional development, and advocacy, the DEI Council supports efforts to create a learning and working environment where all members feel valued, respected, and empowered. The council works closely with school leadership, affinity groups, and DEI Committee members to ensure meaningful and sustainable progress.

FCC (FASPS Community Committee)

All parents and guardians are members of the FASPS Community Committee (FCC). This group of dedicated families nurture the school's strong sense of community through a variety of social events and volunteer opportunities.

The FCC is also a great way for families to connect with other community members. There are many opportunities throughout the year to interact with the school's staff, get to know the faculty, and to form important friendships with other parents.

When your child enrolls at FASPS, the entire family becomes part of a wonderfully diverse and vibrant community where all are valued and welcomed.
