FASPS Alumni Crowned Miss Hawai'i US International 2025

FASPS Alumni, Ava Burke, was crowned Miss Hawai'i US International 2025. Born in Seattle, Ava attended FASPS for nine years and was surrounded by our diverse community. During this time, she began studying classical voice and later performed with the Seattle Opera. These experiences shaped her passion for language, the arts, and cultural exchange, teaching her how music and storytelling can bridge communication barriers and celebrate diversity.
While attending Punahou School, her love of language deepened further throughout high school. She went on to study abroad in Antibes, France, and join the Hawaii Opera Theatre's Young Voices Program. Through these experiences, she began to notice challenges in the underfunding of local artists and missed opportunities in utilizing Hawai'i's rich diversity and multilingual strengths.

These disparities are what made the Miss Hawaii U.S. International title resonate so deeply with her. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, it offers a globally structured platform for meaningful impact. The focus of her reign will be Reduced Inequalities. Her goal is to build a scholarship and initiate annual events locally and globally to honor the power of art, culture, and voice.

Ava is going to be attending the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in the fall to pursue a double major in International Studies and Classical Voice. We are so proud to know Ava and honored to call her a FASPS Alumni!
