Looking for Private French Instructor
My seven-year-old daughter would love to learn French, and we are looking for someone who could do private instruction with her. She has never take French before, so it would be all new to her. We are fairly flexible with the day, but most likely it would be either a weekday after school (4:30pm or later) or a weekend day. She is very enthusiastic and excited about learning French, and we'd love to encourage her interest in a foreign culture and language. If you are interested, or know someone who is interested, please contact Michele Agosti at email@example.com

Lecture on French Art: "Uninterrupted Light: The Gothic Cathedral"
The Mercer Island Sister City Association and the Mercer Island Arts Council present this lecture on French art at 7:00pm, Tuesday, January 29, at the Mercer Island Community and Events Center. In developing the Gothic style in 12th and 13th century France, builders strove for even greater height and transparency. Seamless amalgams of architecture, sculpture and stained glass, the great French Gothic cathedrals strove to recreate heaven on earth. Rebecca Albioni, art historian, has been lecturing at the Frye Art Museum since 1997. Tickets are $15, available online at www.mercerislandsistercity.org/events
or by mailing a check to MISCA, c/o Jane Brahm, 7420 N. Mercer Way, Mercer Island 98040. Questions? Call 206-353-9122. Refreshments will be provided.
