A NEW WAY TO GROW IN LANGUAGE.
Mandarin immersion for our youngest learners — grounded in the early-childhood education families know at FASPS.
FASPS is planning a Mandarin-language immersion pathway beginning with TYPK and YPK in 2027–28, with an expansion to PK and Kindergarten planned for 2028–29. Children would experience our existing early-childhood curriculum with Mandarin as the language of instruction.
MANDARIN
AN IMMERSIVE START. AN OPEN WORLD.
Language becomes part of the everyday rhythm of learning — through relationships, exploration, routines, questions, and classroom experiences.
Language through experience
Mandarin is intended to be a language of instruction, woven into the familiar early-childhood learning experience rather than offered only as a separate language class.
The FASPS early-years approach
The planned track uses the same early-childhood curriculum offered at FASPS, while opening another linguistic and cultural pathway.
A pathway that can grow
The launch is designed to begin with TYPK–YPK and expand as the founding cohort advances, beginning with PK–Kindergarten in the following school year.
Begin early. Build over time.
The proposal extends FASPS’s existing Mandarin offering, which currently begins in Grade 3, into the earliest school years. Details beyond the initial planned expansion are still being developed.
Proposed first phase: a Mandarin immersion class for our youngest learners, using FASPS’s existing early-childhood curriculum.
Planned expansion into the next early-years levels as the founding cohort advances, subject to staffing and implementation planning.
Families would have an earlier opportunity to begin Mandarin at FASPS, connecting with Mandarin learning already offered later in the school.
