FASPS will continue to follow recommended guidelines from the CDC and WA state DOH, and this Covid Guidance may be subject to change as the guidelines change.
Testing Positive

While previous COVID-19 guidance recommended people isolate for at least 5 full days after symptoms appeared, the new guidance recommends that people who have COVID-19 or another respiratory virus may return to normal activities when both of the following have been true for at least 24 hours:

their symptoms are getting better overall, and...

they have not had a fever (without having to use fever-reducing medication).
When people return to normal activities, for 5 days, they should wear a mask and take additional precautions such as taking steps to improve airflow and filtration, practicing good hand hygiene, cleaning regularly, physically distancing, and testing if accessible when they will be around others indoors.
Students younger than two, who cannot mask, may consider five days of isolation or testing negative before returning to school to help mitigate risks.

Masking is not required at FASPS.
Wearing a well-fitting mask consistently and correctly reduces the risk of spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.
All students and employees should consider wearing a mask during the 5 days after isolation period to help prevent further transmission.

Parents must email FASPS’s Covid Team whenever their student tests positive for Covid.
FASPS will continue to inform families when there are cases or outbreaks at school via the Friday Flash or direct email notifications.
Testing
All students and employees who are or have been exposed, regardless of vaccination status, should test every 24–48 hours for five days following exposure.
