The Spirit of Volunteering

The spirit of volunteering is deeply ingrained in our French American School of Puget Sound community.
FASPS families share a common dedication: ensuring all students receive a superb education in a supportive and engaging environment. From the early years of the school’s history, this commitment has fostered a sense of personal involvement that is now a significant aspect of the school’s character. Additionally, FASPS’s enrollment agreement stipulates that parents provide 20 hours of volunteer service per year, with many giving beyond that, further strengthening the school-family partnership.

Volunteering enhances the experience for all members of the community. It is a great way to get to know other families and share information and ideas, while at the same time setting a good philanthropic example for our children. In the Fall, FASPS organizes an annual "Giving Week," to support the Annual Fund, and many volunteers help with making this week such a success! Volunteers might send thank you cards and emails or help spread gratitude by passing out treats to our community.  FASPS’s Gala and Auction, which is our school’s largest fundraising event of the year, is one of the biggest volunteer efforts: We recruit help each year with planning, procuring, and day-of duties. FASPS’s Parent Committee (FPC) needs volunteers to assist with community activities such as monthly coffees and socials, researching and promoting parent education events, and bread sales. There are many ways to get involved that fit everyone’s schedule, time commitment, skills, and interests.
