Student Leadership

Our goal in Middle School is prepare and encourage all students be engaged citizens in their school, and the local and global communities.

A key component of this process is the development of leadership skills, recognizing there are many ways to lead. A range of activities help students gain leadership experience including:

  • Volunteering for community service projects
  • Serving as an ambassador at admission events
  • Leading activities for lower school students
  • Planning social gatherings
  • Participating in student government

Students elect classmates to serves as officers on the FASPS Middle School Student Council. The council meets weekly to plan and organize a variety of events, including school assemblies, social activities, service projects and special Middle School events. They gather ideas and suggestions from the student body, communicate about planning, enlist help from others and lead the Middle School student body meetings. Through these opportunities, students gain the leadership capacity they will need to move successfully through their academic careers and into the professional world.
