Introducing children to the library as a place of enjoyment and as well as study and research begins at a young age.
At FASPS students visit the library with their classes once a week to check out books and conduct research, as well as to enjoy French story time. The Henri Vernhes Library offers an impressive collection of over 10,000 volumes in French and English, including picture books, chapter books, non-fiction, magazines, videos, DVDs and books with tapes. Computers provide students appropriate access to the library catalog and the Internet.
The primary goals of the library are:
- To encourage students to develop a passion for learning, literature, libraries, and languages by offering them quality material in both French and English;
- To teach students the skills required to conduct effective and efficient research;
- To support faculty with quality materials and tools that enhance their curricula and their own professional development.
We encourage FASPS parents to use the library resources and borrow materials: demonstrating a love of reading to your children can inspire them to pick up a book as well.
