General Volunteer Requirements
Each family is responsible for 20 volunteer hours. Filling out the Volunteer Questionnaire form that you received in your back-to-school mailing (also found online at the bottom of this page) and returning it to the school helps match your interests with the needs of the school. It is our goal to ensure that each family has ample opportunity to satisfy volunteer hours in an enjoyable and enriching way.
As you fulfill hours, please take a moment to record the event and hours spent on the page that corresponds to your family in the volunteer binder located at Nicole's desk. A notification will go out to all families in early January of what you have on record, giving you time to continue to fulfill hours as warranted, and/or to record what may have been missed. It is your responsibility to record your own hours, and the school greatly appreciates your doing so. Examples of just a few volunteer job options include:
- Room Parent
- Gala/Auction committee (procurement, administration, decorations, etc.)
- Field Trip Chaperone
- Library aid (covering and re-shelving books)
- Website and Gazette publications (translation, writing, photography, etc.)
- Fall and Spring Picnic (set up, clean up, purchase supplies)
- Drive-through Drop off assistant
As volunteer opportunities arise throughout the year, they will be communicated via room parents. Please pay close attention to the Friday Flash each week for updates on meetings for school events that fall within your area of volunteer interest. If you have any concerns about your volunteering options, please contact the PPC Volunteer Coordinator.
