What is the Gala and auction?
The Gala and auction is the primary annual community-building and fundraising event. Tuition covers only a portion of the costs of running the school. Profits from ticket sales and the auction will benefit our children, for example through scholarships, educational equipment and teacher training.

What is the event this year?
The theme is La Vie en Vert. We invite you to join other parents, guardians, friends, faculty and staff for an evening of socializing, fundraising and celebrating our children and their school. At the Gala you can:

  • Get acquainted with other parents.
  • Support FASPS by participating in the silent and live auctions.
  • Enjoy a sit-down dinner.
  • Indulge in delicious desserts made by FASPS parents.
  • Dance the night away.

How do we raise money for our school at the Gala?
Please come! Your attendance will support our school. At the Gala you will have three opportunities to support our children and school:

  • Bid in a silent auction including elegant jewelry and exquisite artwork.
  • Participate in our live auction of exciting trips, fun events and class projects.
  • Join with others at your table in bidding for the dessert auction. The higher your table's bid, the better your chance of getting your first choice.
Also, in the weeks before the Gala, you can:
  • Buy a $5 raffle ticket for a chance to win a trip to Paris.
  • Bid in our online auction, which features spa treatments, children's parties and much more.

Is this the event for which I'm supposed to procure $250 worth of goods and services?
Yes. Under the FASPS enrollment agreement, each family is required to contribute to the auction.

Are there other ways in which I can contribute?

  • Volunteer to help! Check out the volunteer needs on the Gala website, and fulfill your family's requirement to give 20 volunteer hours.
  • Buy an advertisement in our printed catalog for your business or to thank children's teachers. Advertising details are available on the Gala website.
  • Find a sponsor to help underwrite the costs of the Gala not covered by ticket sales.

What are the dates I need to remember?

  • January 2010: Invitations mailed (be sure to invite your friends and neighbors!)
  • February 26, 2010: RSVP's, raffle ticket sales, & procurement deadline.
  • March 16-25 2010: ON-LINE auction.
